Michael Shellenberger Reveals Why Global Elites are ‘Against Humanity’ on Episode 44 of ‘Tucker on X’

In episode 44 of his newest production, “Tucker on X,” host Tucker Carlson interviewed author Michael Shellenberger on recent comments from President Joe Biden’s climate czar John Kerry, who called for the immediate global end of burning coal.

Kicking off Monday’s 15-minute episode, Carlson declared, “If there’s a single tableau that kind of sums up the moment we’re living in, it’s a group of half-demented 80-year olds sitting around yelling about things they don’t really understand. And no, that’s not Thanksgiving dinner with the grandparents, it’s our federal government – an organization run by people who don’t care about the future because they don’t have one.”

The former Fox News host then pivoted to Kerry’s comments during a speech at the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference where he said coal plants should not be “permitted anywhere in the world.”

To this, Carlson said, “There may be no one in the country who cares less about the future of the United States than climate czar John Kerry, who turns 80 next week.”

Shellenberger pointed out that Kerry and other climate activists are “not even pretending” to care about people anymore with their efforts to completely eliminate burning coal.

“I think what’s so interesting about what’s happening right now is that just even a year or two ago, global elites used to pretend to care about people but they’re not even pretending anymore,” Shellenberger said. “I mean, here they fly their private jets…I think that what’s so different now is that the elites are just openly and blatantly expressing their hatred of humankind, particularly the hatred of working people, of poor people, people both in the United States – in so-called fly over states that they hate so much – but also in places like India and China and Africa where people want to live a better life – and that’s what coal has traditionally provided.”

Shellenberger added that elites like Kerry are “against humankind” and “against humanity” as they continue to reject the practice of producing natural gas.

“The obvious alternative to coal is natural gas,” Shellenberger explained. “If you cared about climate change – if this was actually about climate change – you would just produce more natural gas because it produces half the carbon emissions of coal…But John Kerry and other climate activists are against natural gas and they’ve been stifling of natural gas – clean burning American natural gas, which is the cleanest in the world. So it’s so obvious, it’s so hypocritical, but worse than that I think it’s really anti-human.”

As of press time, the latest installment of Carlson’s video podcast, posted at 4:41 p.m. Central Standard Time on Monday by @TuckerCarlson, had over 2.1 million views.
